Last week's ballot |
Dropped Out: Notre Dame (#21).
- Houston gets in, though I'm skittish about this team. For now, I'll follow the "Hey, they won on the field" rule.
- I'm unimpressed by the last two positions on this ballot. Guidance would be appreciated.
- The top three remain intact, but it should be noted that there was a serious temptation to move Texas ahead of USC. I did not, because of issues with the quality of the opponent. After all, Ohio State is better than Wyoming.
What the hell are you thinking ranking Michigan #14 after they came into the game around #45-50 in the nation? Notre Dame clearly is overrated because of their offense, which still sliced up the Wolverines for 34 points. There needs to be an explanation for this.
ReplyDeleteWell, I had Michigan at No. 17 last week, and chose to bring them up three spots, because their offense is much better than I thought it would be.
ReplyDeleteIs the defense a work in progress? Yes, but I think you're going to see Clausen and Notre Dame carve up better defenses than Michigan's before the year is out.
In the end, who in my top 25 would you like to see ahead of Michigan? Many of them have either shown so far that they can't move the ball or proven they aren't very good at all on defense.
Sorry I sounded so irate. I really am a rational guy, generally. I just think that after last season, people needed to temper their expectations of a team like that. Maybe they really ARE that good, but I'd like to see them win a few Big Ten games before they even crawl into the top 25.
ReplyDeleteI was mostly shocked and disturbed by the major leap Michigan took in the AP and other national polls. It was pretty much absurd. Most teams can't move more than 10 spots in a week, but they moved 23? I'll never understand that. And it wasn't like they won 34-3... it was a last-second drive that put them over the top.
You obviously know nothing about football to leave Georgia Tech unranked. Your poll is a joke as well as your highly ranked homer team.
ReplyDeleteWho the hell do you think my "homer team" is?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite college team isn't even ranked, nor should they be.
